Mercy UMC Hospital – UMC SLAC

Mercy UMC Hospital – UMC SLAC

Mercy Hospital is a 50-bed inpatient and outpatient diagnostics and treatment center in Bo, Sierra Leone. The Hospital is the second-longest continuous global collaboration HCW has had with UMC SLAC.

Growing from a clinic to serve the children in residence at the Child Rescue Centre orphanage, to a fully functioning independent facility that provides services to a significant urban and rural population – and provides service to patients regardless of ability to pay. Deep discounts on services (up to 100%) and full fee waivers for services provided in rural outreach clinics are granted, meaning that Mercy rarely turns patients away. However, the ability to continue providing quality services to charity patients is dependent on the generosity of donors who support hospital operations.
