Systems and Community

Empowerment approaches to development, locally led collaborations, respectful alliances, ethical practices, and sustainable progress.

Understanding the Impact of HCW is measured by what happens to people.

The children, parents, workers, volunteers, and staff whose lives are changed when we are effectively carrying out our mission.

One of the clearest changes you will find is through measuring the impact of strengthening families on outcomes of the children in those families. Seeing parents become the hero of the story in the eyes of their children, and recognizing the impact on workers lives when they see how their work in empowerment means they are part of a team, facilitating collaborations between organizations that enrich individual lives and provide longterm benefits.

Individual benefits are sometimes seen through measuring improvements in the conditions under which children are living, such as the family status index used by the CRC, and they can also be seen in the expressions of love, laughter, and joy of individuals finding their way out of adversity, and the people engaged in the work!
