Child poverty is not limited to developing economies. In 37 high-income countries, 50 million children (23% of their child population) live in poverty. In the United States, 20% of children live in poverty.Poverty during childhood equals lifelong issues - poor health, shorter lifespans, and reduced opportunities that transmit poverty to the next generation.
Progress in ending poverty has stalled due to rising conflict, climate change, and global funding cuts.
