Members of the Mercy Hospital staff routinely visit a circuit of villages surrounding Bo to conduct clinics, including child nutrition, prenatal care and postnatal care. These photos are from an outreach to Manguama village, where the staff saw hundreds of mothers and their babies who are enrolled in the nutritional care program. The babies are weighed and prescribed treatment if they are underweight. Treatment is nutritional supplement to the child’s diet. In rare instances, it involves transport back to the hospital for severe and immediate threatening conditions.
