We participate in a number of voluntary oversight reviews, provide our latest financial audits, and filed 990 informational tax returns, and an extensive history of past statements and returns. We are pleased to state that our highly rated reviews and unconditional auditor opinions demonstrate our consistent commitment to operate pursuant to our mission anchors and core values.

Global Allies Funding Initiatives

We conduct annual summits with allies to apply for capacity-building and funding assistance. The majority of our global alliance funding and expenditures for capacity-building work is dedicated or otherwise directed to support our alliance with UMC SLAC and its programs, Child Reintegration Centre, Mercy UMC Hospital, and the Missionary Training and Resource Centre, as well as the Village Partnership. In part, that is due to the relationships and interests of existing donors, their entry point into relationship with HCW partnership, and consequently their familiarity with certain programs and initiatives. The split between donors support programs in Africa and donors support programs in North America was 50/50 in the past. However, the Virginia-based program was transferred to Reston Interfaith in 2012, and the donors who were most interested in that program transferred their support. Because most of our successful collaborations are building on our work in Sierra Leone, and we are expanding our alliances there faster than anywhere else, those initiatives tends to get funding priority. However, we funded work in Haiti and Guatemala in 2026, and are traveling to Guatemala to review two programs there for potential mission team support in the future. Our global networks are an exception to funding priorities, as that work is primarily internally supported by the networks themselves, requiring very little in the way of financial support. Our other global programming is supported by our international office, including the Rising Tides conference series, and other research and educational workshops, advocacy and curriculum development work.
